GUIDELINES FOR NEW STUDENTS
FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, OWERRI
Guideline On Online Registration Process For New Students
(2009 / 2010 Academic Session)
To start the registration process, activate your browser (internet explorer, fire fox e.t.c) and in the browsers address bar type http://futo.nucdb.edu.ng to access the home page.
1. Click the link ‘Student’s Registration’ to begin your registration.
2. If you are logging in for the first time, click on the link ‘If you are yet to register your personal data on the portal, click here’. This takes you to the page where you are required to fill in your registration details.
3. When you are through with filling the form, your username and password will be generated for you. Print the page or write down the username and password and keep in a safe place. Continue to the full Bio data forms by logging in with your username and password, after which you will be expected to proceed to payments by clicking on the link ‘Make Payments’ then supply your JAMB number and state of origin.
4. A bank payment slip will be generated for you. Print the slip, take it to any of the approved banks on the BranchCollect platform and make your acceptance fee payments. Make sure you obtain a receipt from the bank after you must have made payments.
(Note: if you have made any previous manual payments, proceed to the bank the money was paid to with evidence of payments and the bank payment slip generated from the portal for the bank teller to update your records on BranchCollect)
5. Proceed to your department for clearance with your receipt and the required credentials. Once you have been successfully cleared, you will receive an SMS notifying you to proceed for School fees payments and course registration.
6. Go back to the Home page at http://futo.nucdb.edu.ng, click the link ‘Student’s Registration’, in the resultant page, log in with your JAMB number and state of origin for school fees payment.
7. Print the bank payment slip containing your transaction ID generated for you on the portal and proceed to any of the approved banks on BranchCollect platform for your school fees payments
8. After successfully making payments, proceed for course registration on the portal by logging in with your username and password (generated in step 3). Select the relevant courses for your program.
9. Print four (4) copies of your course registration forms, sign and submit them as follows
• 3 copies to your departmental office and a copy retained by the student.
10. After the close of registration, only students with endorsed course registration forms forwarded from his/her department to the ICT will be deemed as authentic students of the University on the NUC database.

The 2009/2010 COMR. ANYANWU OBINNA led administration of the SUG recently passed with distinction, her first acid test, by ensuring that school fees and accommodation fees were not increased.
It is worthy of note that this set of excos (ALUTA PRESTIGE) has meritoriously became the first in three years to witness and achieve a zero increment in school fees.
